Record Snow!

Reason why I'm glad we don't have to deal with winter clothes all the time!

Our house the morning after -- no one owns shoves to clear the walkways!

On February 11th, 2010 we had a record snow of 12 inches. It was unbelievable for our area -- it literally started snowing early in the morning and snowed all day long. We were scheduled to fly out that evening for a Levin wedding in Tucson, AZ but our flight was cancelled so it allowed us the time to enjoy the snow. The kids were out playing in it first thing in the morning and then after school we had a neighborhood Valentine Party that was followed up with all the neighborhood kids sledding at the school. Our kids had a blast building huge snowmen and sledding down the hill. It was funny because most people in this area unless they moved here from the north don't have sleds so people were sledding on cookie sheets, lids to plastic tubs, pretty much anything they could find! We were lucky to have quite a few neighbors that had sleds that we could share with. We stayed out until it was dark and we couldn't stand the cold any longer. Poor Annalise cried the whole way home! It was a great time getting to enjoy something that doesn't come along very often -- it was the most snow we have seen in our 11 years in Texas.
