Allen has a new minor league hockey team that plays in the Event Center less than 10 minutes from our house. Saturday night they were highlighting the kids that play for the Allen Sports Association so we took the kids to the game. Then after the 1st period, they let the kids come down and parade around the ice. They had a blast! The big kids had been to a hockey game before (we took them to a Stars game on New Year's Eve), but this was fun because we got to sit closer to the ice and see more of the action. Plus, they had a lot of kid-friendly activities going on -- Elvis and Michael Jackson were there as well! The kids are already planning our next game and checking the schedule! Looks like we are going to be Allen American fans -- now we need to learn something about hockey!
